Bridges Advocacy and Outreach Center is a nonprofit organization founded to fill the need for support and advocacy for families of children with special needs and disabilities in Coos and Curry Counties.

We envision a future which includes the following:

Increased numbers of families will be empowered advocates for their special needs and disabled children. They will have high expectations for themselves, their child and the systems which provide services to their child.

Families will have the tools and information needed to make confident choices and act on their own visions and dreams for their child's future. The system, which includes professionals and agencies, will respect and act upon the families needs and desires, expanding the opportunities for their children to reach their full potential.

We see a future that holds respect and positive images both for the special needs child and his or her family. The families of children with special needs and disabilities will be increasingly viewed as a healthy unit, one that belongs, has hopes, dreams and reasons to celebrate.

Families will be in full participation with professionals and agencies who assist their children. Families will be viewed as knowledgeable partners and team members. They will participate and collaborate together with professionals to effectively provide quality services. They will no longer view themselves as " just parents".
